A nice touch I think. The first time I've seen it done at a wedding.

I've never seen this done at a wedding but it's a wonderful symbol. I've seen the unity candle, which is pretty neat. But I like this even better. It's much more of a visual representation of the two becoming one!

i love the idea of two becoming one. losing your identity thru loving someone else so much that you cast away all ideas of self and individuality.... your wants are their wants. your needs are their needs.

i know...i'm a sappy romantic. which is why i love this so much i'm gonna :+fav: it. ;P

Interesting, I haven't seen that before either. What is that powder, spices :D? Things like this definitely make weddings more memorable and symbolic.

They did this at a wedding I went to, but it was with candles.

The sand together looks really cool, but your friend has scary nails.

Your icon kind of looks like the chucky doll (at least at a quick glance). Those dolls freak me out so bad! I know *sigh* I'm weird!

OTAY! That makes me feel better. I didn't want to tell you that your kid looks like a doll that gives me the creeps and make you angry. I think it's just that one picture because she looks a bit angry.

I remember that the Minister said it was a Jamaican tradition, I suppose along the lines of "the two become one". Usually I've seen the couple light a candle together, this was the first time I've seen something like this. I like it, it's something that is tangible, and that you can *keep* for a memory.

yeah i think i'd like something to keep if i had some kind of tradition like that rather than a candle :)
